2. Through observation we
know there are other people, there is other life, and there is lots of
"stuff"-- a whole Universe, in fact. We know that we did not
make any of it. Scientists noting the expanding Universe say
it did not always exist. It had a beginning. In our
experience nothing begins by itself.
3. Through observation and historical record other people,
other living creatures, and plants exist along with us. All
have a finite existence -- a beginning and an end -- death.
4. We see incredible design all around us from the Macro
scale -- the entire Universe, to the Micro scale, the wonderfully
designed individual celled animals down to atomic and sub-atomic
structures. For some weird reason no one questions that a
simple object such as a chair was designed and constructed by an
intelligent being (we even credit members of the ape family for
intelligence because they use a stick to collect insects), yet the
incredible design and working together of all the systems and
sub-systems in the human body is mostly held to be a product of
mindless chance. Does that really make sense? Where
is reality here? The existence of intelligent design always
indicates an intelligent designer.
5. Observation and science tell us that there is a cause for
every effect:
6. Observation and science tell us that life comes only from
pre-existing life.
7. The existence of the physical and chemical laws -- the
axioms of physics and chemisty -- indicates a determination that these
things would be so -- hence a lawgiver.
8. To recap: for every effect there is a cause, The
Universe had a beginning and Beginner, for every intelligent design
there is an intelligent designer, there is a Lifegiver for the human
race and for every species of plant and animal, and there is a reason
for the laws of physics and chemistry. That Beginner-Creator,
the Uncaused Cause, that Intelligent Designer, that Lifegiver, that
Lawgiver is God. |
