| The reality is that it takes a large leap of blind faith to believe in evolution and only enlightened intelligent faith to believe in God. |

| If we look at either an
automobile, cell phone or CD player, for example, we know that it
didn't just happen. Automobiles don't pop out of mud puddles,
cell phones don't morph from green slime and CD players don't ooze to
the surface of tropical swamps -- nor, lest thought insane, would we
think that either the automobile, cell phone or CD player could or
would come about by themselves in a very slow 10 billion year long
"pop"! WHY DO WE KNOW THAT? WE KNOW THAT INTELLIGENT DESIGN IS THE RESULT OF AN INTELLIGENT DESIGNER AND THAT THE EXECUTION OF THAT DESIGN REQUIRES AN INTELLIGENT CREATOR We know that an automobile, cell phone or CD player couldn't and wouldn't just happen because we trust in the deductions we've made from our own personal observations -- combined with the observation of all man's recorded history -- that things which are the obvious result of both a design and creation process don't just happen spontaneously. They require intelligence in both the design and creation processes. ARE WE HUMANS INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED? WHAT ABOUT A WHALE? A MINNOW? EVEN THE TINIEST CELL? Human beings -- for that matter even minnows -- are wonderfully complex with many systems and subsystems. Let's look at sight. To this day no TV camera can match the vision of the human eye. Auto focus -- eyes do that better and more acurately than the best camcorders. Auto iris -- been around in living creatures for millenia, it's a wonderfully complex system all by itself. The range of lighting conditions the human eye can see in far exceeds a TV camera's capabilities. The human eye has automatic lens cleaning -- TV cameras don't. The lens of the human and animal eyes are self healing. You scratch a TV camera lens and it's replacement time. Not many stereo vision TV cameras out there, but living creatures have been doing that for millenia, too. Are we intelligently designed? Duhhhh! As sophisticated as our airplanes are today, when it comes to temperature control it is not unlikely that you'll be on a flight that is either too hot or too cool. Yet the temperatures of our bodies are constantly regulated and extremely consistent. We have several wonderful plumbing systems, but the pump, distribution and oxygenation capability that make up the blood circulation system which carries food and oxygen to every cell in the body and wastes to our kidneys, is truly a wonder. Modern ships are marvels of design. They have extensive systems to take care of wastes. Our kidneys are waste eliminators more wonderful than those of a ship. Their ability to cleanse the blood of wastes is a complex bio-chemical mechanism and a fascinating study on it's own. Our sex organs are incredibly complex and come with auto-lubrication and other friction reduction features. Are these an accident or intelligent design? How long do you have to think about it? Do you want to talk about how we hear sounds? About the whole hunger, smelling, tasting, eating, food processing, fueling system we have? (Don't forget to consider that there are wonderful foods to smell, taste and fuel us, too!) What about how we keep our balance -- a servo system (system of feedback and correction) so precise and automatic we never consider it, and millenia before man ever devised mechanical and electro-servo systems? Where does one stop? There are so many more aspects of our own bodies we could talk about: teeth -- not just one set, but a set for childhood and a set for adulthood. What about a mother's ability to provide food for her babies -- always just the right temperature, always ready to go during the first months of a child's life? Consider would you -- if evolution were true -- that humans and mammalian species never would have survived past the first several days of a newborn's birth while "evolution" took millions of years to develop a functioning lactation system. And consider just one single cell. There are structures and systems within a cell each doing a specialized function and all of which work together for the viability and health of that cell. The human body is composed of multiple billions of cells of many different types themselves formed into unique structures and systems each doing its specialized function necessary for the viability of the entire body. Do our bodies carry the unmistable mark of intelligent design? Does not even a single cell also carry that same mark? If your intelligence is working, go figure it out. MORE BESIDES INTELLIGENT DESIGN There are more hurdles which make faith in evolution the impossible leap that it is. IN OUR EXPERIENCE LIFE COMES ONLY FROM PRE-EXISTING LIFE This goes beyond our experience. It's axiomatic, it's called the law of bio-genesis. Life only comes from life that already exists. SCIENCE TELLS US THERE IS NO PAST ETERNITY OF MATTER Both the expanding Universe and the fact that we see radioactive elements in a process of decay (we speak of their half-life) indicate a starting point in time. If matter had existed forever all radioactive elements would have reached total decay, and they have not. Matter has not existed forever. It had a beginning. There's a great story that reveals an interesting aspect of evolutionary theory. The story goes something like this: Evolutionists were meeting together at a world conference of theirs. They decided that God was dead and that they'd put a nail in His coffin by challenging Him to a man-making contest. They selected one of their number to deliver the challenge to God. The evolutionist approached God with his challenge, so a time and place for the man-making contest were determined. At the contest God scooped together some mud and out of the corner of his eye saw that the evolutionist was also scooping up a pile of mud. God looked over at him and said, "Oh no, you don't. Go make your own mud!" Evolutionary theory always starts with matter and an orderly universe as givens. The question of origins is placed on the back burner -- the far distant back burner. SPECIES EXIST ACCORDING TO THEIR KINDS In the very first chapters of the Bible we're introduced to God creating living things "after their kind," and that's exactly what we observe on earth today. There are no "dats" or "cogs", half dog/half cats. If evolutionary theory were true the fossil record would show the "in-betweens", the missing links in the process. The best experts agree, the fossil record does not have the "in-betweens". Instead, it shows species coming on the scene relatively quickly. THE LEAP OF FAITH TO ACCEPT EVOLUTIONARY THEORY AND THE PROCESS OF EVOLUTION REQUIRES: THAT YOU DENY EVIDENCE OF INTELLIGENT DESIGN THAT YOU DENY THE INTELLIGENT CREATOR NEEDED TO CARRY OUT THE INTELLIGENT DESIGN THAT YOU SUSPEND THE LAW OF BIO-GENESIS THAT YOU INSIST UPON A PAST ETERNITY OF MATTER IN THE FACE OF EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY THAT YOU IGNORE THAT THE FOSSIL RECORD DOES NOT SHOW THE HYPOTHESIZED TRANSITIONAL LIFE FORMS Evolutionary science is bad science. It abandons good scientific method and sound scientific evidence in order to cling to its faith in the evolutionary hypothesis as the metaphysical basis for explaining what exists. It is as much of a faith in a faith as is the belief of the unenlightened religionist. THE IMPLICATION OF WHAT WE CAN KNOW, OF WHAT IS SCIENTIFICALLY DEMONSTRATED, IS THAT THERE IS AN INTELLIGENT DESIGNER, CREATOR, AND LIFEGIVER. IT IS HE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ORIGINS. HE IS GOD! |
